About The Role

We're now looking for a highly skilled and proactive Senior Network Administrator to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving Network Security and Cyber throughout the business.

 

ShapeKey Responsibilities and Skills:

Windows Server Administration:
  • Windows Server 2016/2019/2022; Active Directory (on-premises and Azure AD hybrid); Group Policy management; DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.
Active Directory:
  • AD Users & Computers, group and OU management, permissions, security groups, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), AD Connect synchronization.
Office 365 Administration:
  • Advanced user, group, and license management; mailbox and Exchange Online (mail flow, roles, retention); and security/compliance features.
  • Administration of Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive; troubleshooting integration and collaboration issues.
  • Data loss prevention, MFA setup, conditional access, and Office 365 security best practices.
Azure Administration:
  •  Experience with Azure Portal; user and resource management; virtual networks (VNets); virtual machines; web apps; Azure Active Directory.
Remote & Onsite User Support:
  • Proficient in remote troubleshooting tools; desktop support for 1st/2nd line issues (Windows 10/11); hardware/software installation.
User Lifecycle & Hardware Management:
  • Build, image, and deploy laptops/desktops; manage equipment returns, inventory, and reissuing for staff departures and onboarding.
  • Facilitate onboarding/offboarding including user account provisioning, access management, and equipment allocation/return.
  • Package and organize equipment shipments for remote users.
Networking:
  • Collaborative troubleshooting of network issues (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching), VPN, Wi-Fi, printer/device management, supporting both office and remote users.
VOIP System Support:
  • Work with third-party telephony provider to set up and support users on VOIP systems.
Application Support: 
  • First-line support for core business apps—especially CRM, GDS, VOIP, and travel booking systems. Liaise with remote support teams to triage and resolve user issues.
Security Practices:
  • Apply security patches; implement best practices for user, device, and data protection; incident response and compliance awareness.
Documentation:
  • Maintain clear and accurate IT documentation, guides, and internal knowledge base entries, ensuring up-to-date and accessible information for the wider IT function.
Project & Operational Support:
  • Balance ticket-based user support with participation in IT infrastructure and security projects, system upgrades, and process improvements.
Independence & Initiative:
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, prioritize workload, and ensure timely resolution, while collaborating with team members as needed.
Communication & Soft Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical users, and to produce concise, accurate documentation and reports.
Web Hosting, Cloud, and Development Support
IIS / .NET Application Hosting:
  • Monitor and troubleshoot ASP.NET/.NET applications on Windows/IIS servers.
Basic Linux Server Administration:
  • Support and troubleshoot Linux VMs (primarily Ubuntu); shell access; service management; updates; log review.
  • Exposure to web stack components such as NGINX, MySQL/Redis/PHP.

Scripting & Automation
  • PowerShell scripting for automating tasks across Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, Azure, and Windows environments.
Cyber Skills
  • Threat Detection & Response: Ability to detect anomalies, malware, and intrusions using monitoring tools.
  • Firewall & IDS/IPS Management: Configuring and maintaining network security devices (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems).
  • Vulnerability Management: Running scans, analysing reports, and remediating vulnerabilities.
  • Incident Response & Forensics: Handling security breaches, performing root cause analysis, and documenting findings.
  • Scripting/Automation: Familiarity with scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automating security tasks.

Cyber responsibilities:

  • Monitor security alerts and logs for suspicious activity.
  • Conduct regular audits on systems, networks, and users to ensure compliance and security.
  • Patch systems regularly to close vulnerabilities.
  • Manage secure configurations of routers, switches, and other infrastructure.
  • Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Lead or participate in incident response planning and tabletop exercises.
  • Collaborate with compliance officers to support audits and risk assessments.
  • Evaluate new cybersecurity tools and technologies.

Who should apply?

The ideal candidate for this role would be someone with strong hands-on experience in Network Support and Cyber security ideally.

As a Senior Network Administrator with a focus on cybersecurity, you will act as the lead across of our Network Security team, collaborating with internal colleagues and third-party providers to support, maintain, and enhance our network and core business systems. You will provide expert assistance for a range of end-user devices, line-of-business applications, and cloud services, while contributing to ongoing security, documentation, and performance of networks while implementing robust security measures to safeguard data and systems against cyber threats.

 

  • Experience in Regulated Environments:
    • Awareness of GDPR, PCI DSS, or travel industry regulatory requirements.
  • Microsoft Intune & Autopilot:
    • Device enrolment (Windows, Mac, iOS/Android), compliance policies, application deployment, conditional access, remote support, Windows Autopilot provisioning, device wipe and retirement.
  • Azure DevOps/SDLC Tools:
    • Exposure to DevOps pipelines, source control (Azure DevOps, GitHub), and application deployment workflows.
  • AI/LLM Support:
    • Familiarity with the deployment, onboarding, and user support of generative AI tools and agentic workflow assistants (e.g., OpenAI). Ability to help drive adoption and provide guidance to staff on effective and compliant use of AI-powered solutions.
